Installation/Cellulose Fibre
The Installation Process -
Our professional installers will install the Cellulose Fibre (CFI) via the roof to a depth of 100mm providing you with a minimum R2.5 rating, giving you an insulation solution above recommended levels. Our installers are trained for all situations and pride themselves on doing a quality job on all different roofs types and handle them with care and expertise including: Tile, Tin, Clip Lock and Decrotile. CFI can also be installed at varying depths enabling it to provide a wide range of R-values across a wider scope of applications that any other insulation product on the market.
Moisture Absorption of Cellulose Fibre
Cellulose Fibre has the capacity to absorb and de-absorb moisture more readily than any other insulation on today's market. The determination of moisture absorption by cellulose fibre is one of the requirements of AS/NZ 4859.1, which specifies that materials shall have moisture absorption percentage of less than 20%. Sunseal Cellulose Fibre has a moisture absorption percentage of 8.2%, therefore the product has passed the Australian requirements.
Vermin Resistant
Cellulose Fibre is treated with two non- irritant, non-toxic, safe to handle and allergy free agents; Borax and Boric acid. Both substances have the toxicity of common table salt and can be found in many common household products.
The combination of Borax and Boric Acid prevent vermin and insects breeding in the product. When insects or vermin come in contact with the treated cellulose fibre, the Borax and Boric acid collect on their bodies and causes dehydration completely discouraging them from going near the product. The treatment is one that will last for many lifetimes and is fully guaranteed for the life of the structure.
Acoustic Benefits of Cellulose fibre
Cellulose fibre will enable you to enjoy noise reduction from external (lawn mowers, cars, aircraft etc) and internal (television, stereos, laundry) noise sources with cellulose fibre installed in your ceiling. This will mean a quieter and more comfortable home environment.
Warm in Winter and Cool In Summer
Thickness for thickness, Cellulose Fibre insulation keeps your home warm in winter and cool in summer offering up to 8 degrees difference. This is because Cellulose Fibre is based on paper which is a natural insulation material, and it forms a complete blanket over the roof leaving no gaps, unlike other types of insulation materials. To be technical, Cellulose Fibre has an impressive thermal conductivity value of only 0.036 w/mk. The loose fill installation method ensures a complete seal, eliminating gaps, cracks and other cold bridges. You will never find a 'batt' job that can offer this! All from recycled newspaper!
Fire Safety People are often concerned that Cellulose Fibre, being made from newspaper, might not be safe because of the risk of fire. In fact Cellulose Fibre is extremely resistant to fire, as illustrated.
This remarkable performance is achieved through the addition of simple inorganic salts, which enable Cellulose Fibre to meet all fire protection standards including Australian Standards.
Installation/Polyester Batts
The Installation Process -
Our professional installers will install the Polyester Batt via the roof or manhole with xxx mm batts providing you with a minimum R2.5/R3 rating, giving you an insulation solution above recommended levels. Polyester Batts often take a little longer to install as extra care must be taken when laying the batts to ensure there are no gaps around the edges or trusses in your roof. Polyester Batts are a white fluffy pillow-like texture and are easily installed into most homes. In order to install polyester batt effectively there does need to be some crawl-space in your roof to allow the bats to be placed.
Warm in Winter and Cool In Summer
Polyester Batts is insulation that is soft to the touch, providing excellent thermal performance for the life of your home, while meeting Australian Building Code requirements. In addition to saving on energy bills, your home is more comfortable and greenhouse gas emissions are reduced, which is great for the environment and Poly Batts last for the life of the home. Poly Batts are made from 100% polyester fibre.
